007 Spy Cards is the James Bond post-Casino Royale reboot-era card game, aligned with the Daniel Craig Bond run that had revitalised the franchise for a new generation.
The game
Released in 2009 by Topps, 007 Spy Cards CCG is a two-player espionage duel drawn from the first two Daniel Craig films (Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace). Each player picks a Bond or Villain and plays through Mission cards. Mechanics use a Gadget-Poker-Casino tri-attribute system that reflects the distinct challenges of different Bond-style scenes.
The context
Daniel Craig's Casino Royale (2006) had rebooted Bond successfully, and Quantum of Solace (2008) was the follow-up. Topps' 007 Spy Cards arrived during that reboot-building window. Photography came from Sony/MGM film stills. Topps had mass-market newsagent distribution that reached audiences the hobby-store CCGs typically missed.
The collector angle
Only a limited number of waves shipped. Foil Daniel Craig Bond cards and Mads Mikkelsen Le Chiffre cards are the signature pulls from the Casino Royale era. Because the TCG was primarily distributed through mass retail, sealed product was heavily opened at release and is less common today than the print run would suggest.
Rarity breakdown
