Deadlands: Lost Colony Showdown CCG is the sci-fi-western branch of the Deadlands setting, where Pinnacle Entertainment took their weird-West Reckoners cosmology and pushed it into the 23rd century on a colony world called Banshee.
The game
Released in 2001 by Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) under Pinnacle license, Deadlands: Lost Colony Showdown CCG is a two-player duel set on the Banshee colony where Harrowed, aliens and human settlers fight over territory and artifacts. It shares engine DNA with the earlier Deadlands: Doomtown CCG but the card pool and setting are separate.
The context
The Deadlands tabletop RPG had three sister settings (original West, Hell on Earth post-apocalyptic, and Lost Colony space). The Doomtown CCG had covered the first two, and Showdown was meant to complete the set. AEG at the time was running L5R and Legend of the Burning Sands and handled Lost Colony as a smaller-scale release.
The collector angle
Only a small base set shipped before the line was discontinued when AEG's license structure changed. Limited quantities in distribution mean many cards are genuinely hard to find in clean condition, and sealed starter decks are scarce. The Banshee Mi-Go rare is among the most distinctive pulls for cross-setting Lovecraftian-horror collectors. Because the Lost Colony setting never got a comparable video-game or novel push, the CCG is sometimes the rarest commercial Deadlands product of that era.
