Dragoborne: Rise to Supremacy is a Bushiroad TCG with a distinctive triple-zone battlefield mechanic and a dragon-themed setting that gives the game a visually unified but mechanically layered identity.

The game

Released in 2016 by Bushiroad, Dragoborne: Rise to Supremacy is a two-player duel where each player fights across three parallel Territory zones (sky, earth, sea) simultaneously, with each zone tracking its own tempo of battle. The Dragon Shard resource system lets players drain opposing zones to fuel attacks in their own preferred zones, creating strategic-depth-via-parallel-battle mechanics.

The context

Bushiroad had proven itself with Cardfight!! Vanguard as a major TCG publisher, and Dragoborne was their bid to launch an original-IP TCG outside the anime-tie-in category. The art direction leaned into dragon portraiture across all card types, giving the game a cohesive shelf presence.

The collector angle

Base, Rise of the Dragonborne, Rebellion, Advent, and Resurrection waves shipped before the line wound down around 2018. Foil Dragon Lord cards from each tribal faction are the chase pulls. Bushiroad's printing quality is traditionally among the highest in the industry, which makes Dragoborne foils genuinely visually distinctive compared to many competitors' foil treatments.
