Gogo's Crazy Bones TCG

Gogo's Crazy Bones TCG is Magic Box International's trading-card-game extension of the plastic-figurine Gogo's Crazy Bones collectibles line, a playground phenomenon across Europe and Latin America through the late 2000s and early 2010s.

The game

Released in 2011 by Magic Box International, Gogo's Crazy Bones TCG pairs a head-to-head attribute-matching format with codes that unlock content on the Gogos website. Cards feature the 200-plus different Gogo character designs that the plastic toy line had introduced over the years.

The context

Gogo's Crazy Bones (also known as simply Gogos) had been a playground collectible staple since the late 1990s, particularly in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Mexican school yards. The TCG extended that collection culture into card format with the same character-collection psychology as the original figurine line.

The collector angle

Holofoil rare Gogo character cards are the primary chase pulls. Because Gogos has a substantial nostalgic collector base in Latin American and Southern European markets, the TCG cards have a regional aftermarket more active than mainstream English-speaking CCG channels. Cards featuring retired original-line Gogo characters (characters that were only in the first two Magic Box releases) are the rarest items.
