Lego: Batman TCG

Lego Batman TCG is a Topps-produced trading-card-game line aligned with Lego's long-running DC Super Heroes licensed product line and the Lego Batman animated-movie releases (2017, 2019).

The game

Released from 2017 onwards by Topps, Lego Batman TCG uses an attribute-comparison matchup system where each card has Batman-themed statistics (Strength, Stealth, Gadgets, Detective). Cards feature Lego minifigure photography of Batman in various suits plus the expanded DC villain rogues' gallery (Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Harley Quinn).

The context

The Lego Batman Movie (2017) was a critical and commercial hit, and Topps produced the TCG alongside the film's merchandise push. European mass-retail distribution was the primary channel, with the UK, Germany, France and Benelux countries as the strongest markets.

The collector angle

Multiple themed waves have shipped, each covering different Lego Batman suits and character rosters. Limited-edition holofoil minifigure cards are the primary chase pulls. Because Lego Batman minifigures have their own substantial collector market, TCG cards featuring rare or exclusive minifigure variants carry crossover value from the Lego collector community.
