Myths and Legends CCG (Mitos y Leyendas in Spanish) is the long-running Chilean CCG from Salo, a domestic hit that has been printing continuously since 2000 and is one of the longest-running Latin American original-IP card games.

The game

Released in 2000 by Salo (Chile), Mitos y Leyendas is a two-player duel built around historical and mythological characters from Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Asian, Aztec, Inca, and biblical pantheons. Each player builds a deck from a chosen Raza (race/culture) and battles across a shared play area with heroes, creatures, relics, and divine intervention cards.

The context

The Chilean CCG market of the early 2000s was vibrant with domestic original IPs, and Myths and Legends became the definitive local flagship. Salo built an expansion pipeline that matched or exceeded the major international CCGs in volume, with dozens of expansions covering every real-world mythological tradition. The game has a genuine tournament scene across Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.

The collector angle

Over 40 expansions have shipped across more than two decades of active publishing, making Mitos y Leyendas one of the most prolific CCG catalogues in the world. Early expansions (Trono de Fuego, Dominios de Ra) are scarce because early print runs were small and the domestic audience did not yet preserve cards carefully. Premium-foil versions of iconic heroes (Aquiles, Quetzalcoatl, Odin, Anubis, Sun Wukong) are the primary chase pulls. English-language awareness of the game is low, and cards trade primarily in Spanish-speaking collector communities.
