Gasaraki Mission Director is a collectible card and board game hybrid released by Bandai in Japan, based on the 1998 Sunrise mecha anime television series Gasaraki. The anime, directed by Ryosuke Takahashi, ran for 25 episodes on TV Tokyo through March 1999 and followed Yushiro Gowa piloting bipedal Tactical Armor units in a near-future political conflict. Mission Director translates the mecha combat of the show into a tabletop format: players control robot units represented by plastic card-shaped pieces that can be equipped with interchangeable weapon accessories, then navigate a shared battlefield to complete assigned mission objectives. Victory is achieved by completing the mission, destroying all opponent robots, or capturing the enemy base. The game was sold in starter kits and multiple booster sets, all in Japanese. It appears to have been released in the year or two immediately following the anime's broadcast and was aimed at the domestic market. Documentation in English is sparse, and the game has been out of print for over two decades.
