Gundam Cross War

Gundam Cross War is a collectible card game published by Bandai that launched across Southeast Asia in October 2015, with simultaneous availability in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, and Macau. The game was notable for pairing physical card play with a companion smartphone app: each card featured a two-dimensional barcode on its reverse that players could scan to register the card to their Bandai-Namco account and play online. The hybrid design allowed the same collection to function both on a tabletop and within a digital client. In July 2017 Bandai announced that Cross War would end service following the release of its final booster that October; the app servers shut down on December 31, 2017, though printed card errata and official tournament support continued into March 2018. English-language cards were released alongside the Japanese editions. The game is now out of print.
