Inazuma Eleven 2018 is a trading card game published by Takara Tomy in Japan in May 2018, timed to coincide with the broadcast of the Inazuma Eleven Ares no Tenbin anime series, the franchise's return to television after several years. The game extends the Inazuma Eleven TCG line that Takara Tomy had been producing since the original Nintendo DS game era, adapting the renewed cast of characters and hissatsu (special technique) moves introduced in the Ares storyline. Players build decks around the football (soccer) battle mechanics that define the franchise, combining character cards and technique cards to win matches. The game targeted the existing domestic fanbase in Japan and was published solely in Japanese. It followed a long line of Inazuma Eleven card products from the same publisher, including sets tied to the GO and Chrono Stone sub-series.
