Riftbound is the official physical trading card game set in the League of Legends universe, developed by Riot Games under game director Dave Guskin (formerly of Legends of Runeterra) and executive producer Chengran Chai. Development began in 2023. The first set, Origins (298 cards), launched in China in August 2025 and in English-speaking markets on 31 October 2025 through publisher UVS Games, with the Chinese release handled by Shining Soul. Rather than a health-points combat system, Riftbound uses an objective-control format in which players deploy Champion cards, spells, and gear to capture and hold battlefields, accumulating points toward a target score. Each player pairs a main deck (minimum 40 cards) with a 12-card rune deck that functions as the resource system. Subsequent sets include Spiritforged (February 2026), Unleashed (May 2026), and planned releases Vendetta and Radiance later in 2026. The launch was affected by supply shortages and collation errors.
