Serpent's Tongue is a collectible card game and alternate reality game designed by Christopher Gabrielson and published by Unbound Games in the United States. The game was funded through a Kickstarter campaign that ran from April to May 2012, raising over $195,000 from 1,261 backers against an $18,000 goal. Players take on the role of Magi in an alternate present where magic is treated as real, and each player builds a spellbook of up to 27 cards drawn from offensive spells, defensive spells, artifacts, and character specializations. The game's signature mechanic requires players to verbally recite incantations using a Serpent's Key cipher printed on the cards, with opponents verifying correct pronunciation. The system supports one to eight players and is designed for sessions of roughly ten minutes. Unbound Games released a Core Set and multiple Inscription Pack expansions, and the game was also made available in digital tabletop form. It remains one of the more distinctive ARG-adjacent card games to emerge from the early crowdfunding era.
