Star Wars Trading Card Battle was a collectible card game produced by Bandai under the Carddass label and released in Japan on December 18, 2015, timed to coincide with the theatrical premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Published as part of Bandai's Carddass Masters line, the game shipped in two formats: ready-to-play 45-card Starter Decks (Light Side and Dark Side editions, each priced at 1,500 yen and containing 18 exclusive limited cards) and booster packs sold in boxes of 20 packs, each pack containing five cards and one index sheet. The complete first series comprised 121 base card types plus 5 parallel variants, with a rarity ladder of Normal, Rare, Double Rare, Force Rare, and Force Rare Parallel (the highest rarity incorporating holofoil and FVP treatment). Cards reproduced imagery from the film and followed Bandai's established Carddass game framework. The game was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and never received an official localization. It is now out of print and primarily traded by collectors of both Star Wars memorabilia and Japanese Carddass products.
