Ultra Battle Zone is a Japanese collectible card game published by Bandai in March 2002, released through Bandai's Carddas card vending machine and retail distribution system. Carddas was Bandai's long-running platform for collectible card products tied to popular anime franchises, active since 1988. Ultra Battle Zone is based on Ultraman, the tokusatsu franchise created by Tsuburaya Productions that has been a cornerstone of Japanese popular culture since 1966. The game pits Ultraman heroes against their monster adversaries in a card-based battle format consistent with the Carddas product line's conventions of the era. It is distinct from the similarly named Ultra Battle Zone playset toy released by Bandai in 1995 and unrelated to the modern Ultraman Card Game launched by Bandai in 2024. The game is now out of print, and detailed rules documentation is scarce in surviving collector records, which is a common fate for Carddas tie-in games of that period.
